The Tiwanaku inhabitants reached high levels of knowledge on architecture, astronomy, engineering, sculpture, and pottery. They kept mummies and considered skull deformity as sign of beauty and power.
Several reasons contributed to the disappearance of the Tiwanaku Empire: civil war, drought that extended for some years, and floods.
 
 
DAY 1. LA PAZ
Transfer from the airport to the hotel of your choice.
Overnight in La Paz.

DAY 2. TIWANAKU
After breakfast, trip to Tiwanaku, ruins of the most important pre-columbian civilization in South America. Upon arrival, visit to the museum where you can appreciate the Benett monolith. You also visit the Temple of Kalasasaya, the Pyramid of Akapana, the Semi-underground Temple and the Door of the Sun.


In the afternoon, City Tour of La Paz visiting Plaza Murillo (the main square), Parliament, the Government Building, the Cathedral, Moon Valley, the Residential District, Mirador Killi Killi and the Witches Market.
Overnight in La Paz.

DAY 3. COPACABANA – SUN ISLAND
Bus trip to Copacabana. Arrival and accommodation at your hotel. After lunch, boat trip to visit Sun Island where you will visit the Fountain of Eternal Youth, Yumani Stairway and Pilkokaina Palace.
Return to Copacabana.
Dinner and overnight in Copacabana.

DAY 4. COPACABANA
After breakfast visit to the market, the church and the shrine of Copacabana. Lunch and return to La Paz.
Overnight in La Paz.

DAY 5. LA PAZ
Transfer from your hotel to the airport.
