Salta is considered to be the main tourist city in Argentina near the borderline with Bolivia. You can take any of the three routes that take you to Bolivia from Argentina. These routes take you from Salta to the Bolivian cities of Santa Cruz, Tarija, and Sucre through the borderline towns of Yacuiba, Bermejo and Villazón respectively.
The route between Salta and Santa Cruz through Yacuiba is historical. Enjoy the adventure of seeing the places where the guerrilla group, commanded by Che Guevara, designed and developed their insurrection plans in the 1960’s
The route from Salta to Tarija through Bermejo offers you fishing in the El Cajón and Villamontes areas.
Finally, from Salta you can go to Potosí and Sucre through the borderline towns of La Quiaca and Villazón. Potosí and Sucre have important cultural tourist attractions like monuments from the colonial times.

 
There is only one way to enter Bolivia from Brazil. This is from Corumbá to Santa Cruz, through Puerto Suárez, Puerto Quijarro, and Campo Grande. The Pantanal region offers you the chance to practice nature tourism. Also, you can do cultural tourism visiting the ‘Misiones Jesuíticas de Chiquitos’.
This colonial route links Iquique with Potosí, Sucre, and the Misiones Jesuíticas de Chiquitos. It offers you sights of cities and monuments from the Spanish domination times.
The coast route to the volcanoes and the archaeological and lagoon routes take you along the natural resources of the North and Northeast of Bolivia and the northern region of Chile. The first one links Iquique with Oruro, and the second one links San Pedro de Atacama with Uyuni, where you can visit the salt deposits, the Red and Green Lagoon, the “Sol de Mañana” geyser and others.

This route connects Asunción del Paraguay with Santa Cruz through Puerto Villazón, a borderline town located in the Department of Chuquisaca. It covers a great part of the Bolivian Chaco and goes into the region where the Che Guevara guerrilla group was defeated by the Bolivian Army. It provides you with a feeling of adventure and the chance to value historical settings.
